Valentines chocolates
You may have noticed that we now have a Valentines Chocolates section on the Moko website. It contains various chocolate selections such as the Luxury Chocolate Cheesecake Selection and the Moko Luxury Milk Selection. However making a return from last year are the very special Strawberry and Champagne Valentine’s Truffles, they’re very delicious and very pink. A sure fire way of melting the heart of the chocolate lover in your life.

Chocolate World Records
At Moko we have some decent sized chocolate slabs which would satisfy most people. However there has be some truly gigantic chocolate related records over the years and here is a small selection.
- The length of the longest chocolate bar measured 11.57m long and 1.1m wide. It was made by A. Giordano Laboratorio Di Cioccolato in Turin, Italy on 14 March 2010.
- The world’s largest chocolate rabbit was made by Harry Johnson in Sandton City, South Africa and weighed in at 3,010 kg (6,635 lb 91 oz)
- The largest cup of hot chocolate contained 2400 litres and was made by Nestle in in November 2010.

7 weeks to go...
With only 7 weeks until Christmas, decorations are now in the shops, minor celebrities are waiting to switch on festive illuminations and kids are carefully deciding what to include on their lists to Santa.

Chocolate in the Olympics?
It’s less than a year until the London Olympics but did you know that if chocolate consumption was an event we’d be medal winners!
When measured per person, the UK comes third in the chocolate lovers rankings worldwide with an average personal consumption of around 10.1kg of chocolate each year. This seems fairly impressive but when you break it down that only equals 195g of chocolate each week.
Now call me a fanatic if you like but that doesn’t seem all that much to me? It certainly must mean that I’m a fair way above average (it’s nice to be good at something)! I wonder whether we should start a campaign to improve our ranking in time for the Olympic year?
So who is ahead of us in the gold and silver positions? Well predictably the Swiss are in 2nd place but we all know that Swiss chocolate is pretty good so no surprise there. However, top of the heap is... Ireland!
Who’d have thought it? Our Irish neighbours are currently showing us a clean pair of chocolate heals with an average personal chocolate consumption of 11.8kg each year!
So come on UK, let’s get into training and try to take that top spot. Let’s face it, it’s not the most arduous task ever, we’d basically just need to up our chocolate intake by a mere 35g each week... Easy!

How many ears?
Following on from yesterday’s blog post, we’d just like to say a little thank you to our wonderful customers!
One of the nicest things about the chocolate addicts who patronise MokoChocolates.co.uk (in the nice sense) is that you’ve been so good at talking to us. Not only have you told us how wonderful we are (sorry if that’s a bit immodest) but you’ve also been recommending the kind of chocolates you’d love us to add to our range. Well, Dan’s mum always used to say, "you’ve got two ears and one mouth, use them in the same proportions." It sometimes seems that he wasn’t paying attention, but in this case we’ve been listening very carefully.
So we’re really proud to roll out our new look gift website and much broader chocolates selection. You’ll now find amazing handmade chocolates, chocolate slabs, Belgian chocolates, Swiss chocolates (from our friends at Lindt)... you get the point, the list goes on.

In with the new...
The wait is finally over! After a summer of eating copious amount of chocolate, the shiny new MokoChocolates.co.uk website is now live! As well as having a facelift, we have also listened to customer feedback and added lots of exciting new chocolate gifts to our range.
